Resorts Casino Hotel Celebrates 40-year Anniversary


ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – May 21, 2018 – The newly renovated Resorts Casino Hotel and high technology conference center, will celebrate its 40-year anniversary the weekend of May 25 – 27, 2018 in a fitting tribute to Atlantic City’s first casino hotel. Guests will have the chance to experience the reenactment of the very first roll of the dice at 5:15 p.m. on Friday on the floor of the casino recalling the moment when gaming arose on the East Coast.

The celebration will include giveaways, games, popular cocktails from the late-1970s served at Bar One and disco music entertainment, along with the annual Beach Ball Drop, where thousands of beach balls are let out along the Atlantic City boardwalk.  Guests are welcome to test their luck and take a pull on Atlantic City’s first slot machine between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Saturday in for an opportunity to win up to $2,500 in slot cash. In the evening, Resorts’ Superstar Theater features Village People on stage at 8:00 p.m. performing their iconic hits “Macho Man” and “Y.M.C.A.” To end the weekend on Sunday evening, guests will enjoy a spectacular beachfront firework display at 9:00 p.m.

All summer through August 30, Resorts Casino Hotel will host “Throwback Thursdays” at Bar One from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each week, serving themed cocktails paired with popular music from the late-1970s. Guests can also check out historical photos and play trivia contests for the chance to win impressive giveaways. As a bonus, guests who present an old ticket stub from a past concert at Resorts promotions booth will be eligible to win a special anniversary prize.

Ocean Tower has been a guest favorite since the property opened as Atlantic City’s first casino in 1978.
